Enjoyed the character development of Targa and her mom
Born Of Water by Al Knorr is a fun fantasy novel. What I liked about the story was that the author spent time thinking through how to portray the differences between humans and mermaids. The author showcased how mermaids’ ways of looking at the world were different than human preferences and perspectives. There were some editing flaws in the book, but I was able to focus on the story which was not your run-of-the-mill mermaid story. I loved the layers of the storyline–there is family drama, societal issues, romance and relationships. Overall I woul give this book a 4 out of 5.
