Story / Interest
Better character development than Caraval (first book) in my opinion.
Legendary by Stephanie Garber is an intriguing story. The book follows two sisters as they navigate the dangerous upside-down world Caraval. The story follows Caraval, a once-in-a-lifetime performance where the audience participates in a living, breathing game of competition. Caraval is owned by the mysterious Legend, who will grant one lucky player a wish if they can solve the game. Told in a dual narrative by sisters Scarlett and Tella Dragna, the story is full of mystical elements and thrilling twists and turns. I found this book to be an exciting and unique read filled with lots of plot twists that kept me on the edge of my seat. The characters are well-crafted and memorable, and the author does a great job of incorporating elements of magic and folklore into the story. I would say that Legendary is best suited for readers between the ages of 13 and 18 who enjoy thrilling adventure stories with a hint of romance. The writing is eloquent and descriptive while at the same time providing suspense and action. Overall, Legendary is an exciting and intriguing book that will leave readers wanting more. It is certainly one of a kind and will keep readers entertained until the very last page.5 out of 5.
