A summary of some of the most important Greek, Roman, Eqyptian and Norse Myths! Foundational!
My review of Mythology by Edith Hamilton is a glowing one. This classic read is a collection of the ancient mythology of Greek, Roman, Norse, and Egyptian stories and the gods that ruled them. Hamilton does an excellent job of retelling these timeless tales in an engaging, accessible, and memorable way (maybe not as mystical though as other mythology books I have read). It is appropriate for any age; teenagers and adults will appreciate and be able to comprehend these stories. It’s a great way to introduce important classical characters and stories to kids in an entertaining and educational way. Hamilton includes informative introduction chapters to each of the myths before diving into the stories, which provides an invaluable primer on the central characters and their backstory for those who may be learning about these stories for the first time. Highly recommend to anyone interested in learning more about Greek, Roman, Norse, and Egyptian mythology, especially for those wanting to start learning about mythology.
