Red is a great story for fairy tale lovers!
The book Red – The True Story of Red Riding Hood was one of my favorite books when I was 8 years old. I loved the creativity of how author Liesl Shurtliff evolved the traditional Red Riding Hood story kids grow up hearing. This book follows our hero Red as she embarks on a harrowing quest to save her Grandmother. Red’s journey is thrilling and perilous, as she must use her intelligence and intuition to outsmart wolves, dwarves, and other mystical creatures in order to achieve her goal. One of the best parts about this book is Red’s character. She is a strong-willed, brave individual who, through the course of the book, learns to trust her own judgment and stand up for herself and her beliefs. This book helps kids to feel brave and learn how to trust themselves. Highly recommended!
