If you love backstories and The Maze Runner books, read this prequel!

I love dystopian novels and The Fever Code by James Dashner is no exception. This book is an answer key to several outstanding questions I had during reading the The Maze Runner series. If someone asked me if they should read the prequel first, I would suggest they read the books in the order in which they were written.  his book showcases the mysterious world of the Gladers, a group of special teens living in a post-apocalyptic world. The storyline explores the origin of the mysterious Gladers and their battle for survival against a force known only as “the death wave”. Each of the main characters is well-developed and their interwinding stories add to the complexity of the plot. Dashner’s writing style is fast-paced, easy to follow, and entertaining to read. He brings the world of the Gladers to life with detailed descriptions that make you feel like you’re right there with the characters. It is appropriate for ages 13 and up and I give it a 5 out of 5. I would recommend reading the books in close succession to each other so you don’t forget some of the details!
