The Mirror of Merlin

Book Title: The Mirror of Merlin

Book Description: What is the nature of fate? Is young Merlin destined to be a powerful wizard, or does he have a choice? These are the questions Merlin must answer as he travels with the deer woman Hallia to the Haunted Marsh where the marsh ghouls have begun a campaign of destruction. Or are the ghouls being manipulated by an even greater source of evil? An evil that seeks to destroy not the marsh, but Merlin himself? Here, in the fourth installment of the Lost Years of Merlin, epic master storyteller T. A. Barron weaves a tale of humor, adventure, and surprise as Merlin unravels the mystery of the Haunted Marsh, meets a boy named Arthur, and travels through a mirror of mist that brings him face to face with his destiny.

Gets better as you get into the middle part of the book.

I was given this book as a gift and I have always been fascinated by Merlin, King Arthur, and the Knights of the Roundtable so I figured I would enjoy this book. The Mirror of Merlin is written by T.A. Barron, and it is appropriate for kids 10+. The book follows the adventures of a young Merlin who travels to an exciting and dangerous underground world where he is challenged to use his knowledge and curiosity to battle evil forces. I would rate this book 4 stars because the beginning is a little slow, but the plot picks up about 100 pages into the story. There are plenty of twists and turns to keep readers on the edge of their seat and the ending is definitely satisfying. Overall, I recommend this book.
